Autentic announces a major new slate of factual programming, one week ahead of the London TV Screenings 2026. Featuring more than 40 hours of fresh new programming, Autentic’s new slate combines urgent global themes, premium history, cinematic wildlife storytelling, and strong returning brands, underscoring Autentic’s continued commitment to ambitious international factual content.
A major highlight of the slate is the nature and wildlife series The Archipelago (2 x 52’, Boréales), a cinematic journey across five radically different tropical island worlds, each shaped by a distinct geological origin. Blending spectacular natural history with authentic human stories, the series explores how geology creates biodiversity from the Mascarene Islands to New Caledonia.
Three new premium wildlife productions from Terra Mater Studios further strengthen the natural history slate: The Mighty Colorado (52’ 107’, Terra Mater Studios, Fin & Fur Films), a cinematic exploration of one of North America’s most iconic rivers; Mallorca – Beyond the Beaches (52’, Doclights/NDR Naturfilm, Terra Mater Studios), revealing the island’s rich and often overlooked biodiversity; and Ice Nomads (52’, Terra Mater Studios, Saint Thomas Productions), a visually stunning film in which a drifting iceberg becomes the central protagonist, shaping the fragile Arctic ecosystem.
In current affairs, Digital Timebomb (52’, werwiewas medienproduktion) investigates the vulnerability of the physical infrastructure behind the internet, examining undersea cables, data centers, cyber threats , and the growing energy demands of AI technologies.
Premium history titles include The Apple Story – Selling the Revolution (52’, Spiegel TV), marking 50 years of Apple and exploring the cultural and societal consequences of its rise; Surviving Auschwitz – The Seven Lives of Dany Dattel (52’, Gruppe 5, gemini film & library, wiesefilm), a powerful portrait of a Holocaust survivor filmed shortly before his death; and Ancient Pompeii – The Secrets of Villa Oplontis (2 x 45’, 90’, Go Button Media with Autentic), following new excavations at one of the Roman Empire’s most extraordinary villas.
The science and technology genre includes Milestones of the Solar System (6 x 52’, Go Button Media for Autentic), tracing the dramatic cosmic events that shaped our planetary system; Home from Space (2 x 52’, Spiegel TV), telling the human story behind the International Space Station; the new season of the high-stakes engineering series Heavy Lift III (6 x 52’, Millstream Films and Media); Ports of the World (6 x 52’, Maximus Film), an in-depth look at the global gateways driving international trade and technological innovation; and Without Limits (2 x 52’, Autentic), exploring the science of peak human performance and the interplay between technology, biology and the power of the mind.
Another key Autentic original, Moral Dilemmas: Lessons from Literature (5 x 52’, Autentic), explores relevant and universal moral questions from guilt and responsibility, freedom, identity, love and belonging. Drawing on world-famous literary classics, the series offers nuanced storytelling where complex dilemmas resist simple answers.
In the People & Places genre, Matterhorn: The Deadly Peak (52’, NZZ) explores the enduring fascination and fatal risks surrounding one of the world’s most iconic mountains, following rescue teams and climbers confronting its harsh realities. The Monumental Trans-Iranian Railway (4 x 52’, Millstream Films and Media) traces the history and present-day significance of one of the 20th century’s greatest engineering achievements, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that continues to shape national identity and geopolitics.
