DTG names Livingston co-chair of Next-GenMedia Working Group

December 3, 2025

The Digital TV Group (DTG) has appointed Andy Livingston, Director, Technology EMEA at Sony Pictures Entertainment, as co-chair of its Next-Generation Media Working Group. Livingston will work alongside existing co-chair Andy Lucas, SVP, Global Distribution Technology at NBCUniversal, to lead the group’s work on future media formats and viewing experiences.

As the technology landscape continues to evolve rapidly, optimising content presentation for every viewer, on every device, has become increasingly complex. The Working Group brings together broadcasters, content owners, technology providers and manufacturers to address emerging formats, advanced codecs, and the growing impact of next-generation audio and video, ensuring the highest-quality viewing experience with seamless delivery.

Livingston commented: “I’m delighted to be joining the DTG’s Next-Generation Media Working Group as co-chair at such a pivotal time for our industry. Viewers expect exceptional experiences wherever and however they watch, so it is essential that we work together across the ecosystem to optimise formats, codecs and delivery so that content is experienced exactly as intended, on every screen. I look forward to working with Andy, the DTG and the wider membership to help shape the next generation of high-quality, reliable viewing experiences.”

Richard Lindsay-Davies, CEO of the DTG, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Andy as co-chair of our Next-Generation Media Working Group. His experience at Sony Pictures Entertainment, combined with Andy Lucas’s perspective from NBCUniversal, brings together two world-class content and technology leaders to guide this critical area of our work. Their combined expertise will help ensure that the UK remains at the forefront of delivering outstanding, future-ready viewing experiences for audiences everywhere.”
