Viaplay Content Distribution has announce the acquisition of international distribution rights for Vanguard (5 x 45’), an upcoming drama series produced by FLX in collaboration with SVT and New8 Alliance.
Vanguard delivers a gripping portrayal of Swedish media mogul Jan Stenbeck, following his transformative years in 1970s New York and his revolutionary impact on Sweden’s media and telecommunications landscape. The series dives into high stakes deals, family rivalries, and the personal toll of ambition and power.
Directed by Goran Kapetanović (Caliphate, The Congregation) and starring Jakob Oftebro (Black Crab, Agent Hamilton), Vanguard is based on Per Andersson’s acclaimed biography Stenbeck: A Biography of a Successful Businessman.
Premiering in 2025 across the Nordics, the series is backed by a roster of co-production partners, including SVT, NRK, DR, YLE, RUV, ZDF, NPO, and VRT. Viaplay Content Distribution is managing international rights for all remaining territories.
