Murdoch Snr to be deposed in Fox vs Dominion case
January 19, 2023

Rupert Murdoch is to be questioned under oath in the defamation lawsuit against his Fox News’ coverage of unfounded vote-rigging allegations in the 2020 US presidential election.
Vote machine company, Dominion Voting Systems, claims Fox News ran false claims about its machines being used to rig the election against Donald Trump. Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion (€1.48bn) in damages.
Fox has argued that it had a right to report on election-fraud allegations made by Trump and his lawyers, and that Dominion’s lawsuit would stifle press freedom. A judge rejected the network’s bid to disallow the case in December 2021.
Murdoch, 91, is expected to be questioned in person in Los Angeles.
