Channel 5 commissions ITN for live debate special
September 1, 2022
Channel 5 has commissioned ITN Productions to produce a one-off live debate hosted by Jeremy Vine focusing on the anger, anxiety and the massive issues currently engulfing Britain.
Millions of people feel like they have had enough and they’re all desperately wanting answers. The studio audience will be discussing and debating why people can’t heat, can’t eat and who is ultimately to blame.
The audience will feature people with very different perspectives and passionate points of view – all united by the frustration and fear about the state Britain is in.
Ordered by Kate Ansell and Daniel Pearl, Commissioning Editors for Channel 5 Factual Entertainment, the hour-long show will air imminently in September and will see audience members from across Britain share their stories and experiences.
MD of Television at ITN Productions, Ian Rumsey, said: “There has never been a better time for people to share their stories and vent their frustrations. There’s a general feeling of helplessness right now. This programme will be the place where people try to put our world to rights.”
