Netflix orders Beckham docu-series

Netflix has revealed that it has a documentary series about global football icon David Beckham in producton.
The streaming platform said that the multi-part series will “go beyond the shine of stardom to explore Beckham’s humble working class beginnings in East London, and the drive and determination that led him to become one of the most recognisable and scrutinised athletes of all time”.
The series will feature a mixture of personal archive footage and interviews with Beckham, his family and friends, and key figures from throughout his life and career.
The project is helmed by Academy Award-winner Fisher Stevens who serves as director and executive producer, along with Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning producer John Battsek. The production companies are Studio 99 in association with Ventureland.
