NRL on SPORT1
March 8, 2022
SPORT1+ has added NRL rugby to its lineup. The new season of the Australian NRL Telstra Premiership, which starts on March 10th, will usually be covered by three live broadcasts on each matchday.
In addition to the regular season, the Finals Series and the Grand Final at the beginning of October will also be shown live on the pay-TV channel. In total, up to 90 live games with original commentary will be broadcast in the upcoming season. The coverage will be rounded off with a weekly highlight magazine on SPORT1+ and highlight clips on the digital SPORT1 platforms.
Sport1 GmbH has secured corresponding platform-neutral media rights to the NRL Telstra Premiership for Germany, Austria and Switzerland until 2024.
The season kicks off with the clash of the reigning champions Penrith Panthers against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.
