From David Del Valle in Madrid
Telefónica is speeding up its 5G deployment, achieving coverage of 80 per cent of Spain at the end of the first quarter of the year – reaching over 37 million inhabitants and 1,253 municipalities in the country.
The company is deploying 5G NSA (Non Stand Alone) and DSS (Dynamic Spectrum Sharing) networks at the present time with plans to use 5G SA (Stand Alone) in the near future when the technology is fully available.
Currently, Telefónica is using 3.5 GHZ bands with plans to use the 700 Mhz later on this year when the 5G auction is complete.
