Movistar, MásMóvil shared networks deal
June 23, 2020
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Movistar and MásMóvil, Spain’s first and fourth largest telcos respectively, have reached an agreement to share their networks.
Thanks to the five year deal, MásMóvil will be able to cover around 500,000 new homes with FTTH and have access to future deployments of Movistar FTTH network across the country.
The agreement will also allow MásMóvil to save €28 million a year as the use of Movistar network will be cheaper. In exchange, Movistar will get €100 million a year from MásMóvil.
With this new deal, MásMóvil strengthens its position in the market where it also benefits from similar deals with Orange, the second largest telco operator.
