France: Canal+ acquires Europa League football
December 12, 2019
French pay-TV broadcaster Canal+ has reportedly agreed a deal to broadcast the top fixture each game-week from the Europa League, or the new Europa Conference League tournament that launches in 2021, for the 2021-24 seasons.
The deal will also grant Canal+ the rights to broadcast the finals of both competitions, giving it a total 16 matches per season, according to a report in French sports paper L’Équipe.
The deal follows the tie-up it announced with beIN Sports last month for Champions League football coverage.
