DAZN beats Sky Deutschland to Champions League
December 12, 2019
Sky Deutschland has lost the rights to air Champions League football in Germany for the first time in 20 years after being outbid by sports streaming platform DAZN.
Comcast-owned Sky Deutschland will no longer show matches from the elite football competition once its current contract with UEFA expires in 2021.
DAZN will share the rights to the competition with Amazon, which revealed earlier this week that it had successfully acquired a package of games in Germany.
The new deals starts in the 2021/22 tournament and runs for three seasons.
