Mediaset, Vivendi row gets new court date
December 2, 2019
An Italian judge has scheduled December 6th for the new hearing in Vivendi’s request to block Mediaset’s pan-European television project.
The two groups, locked in a series of legal battles, have clashed over Mediaset’s plans to merge its Italian and Spanish operations under the guise of MediaForEurope (MFE), a new Dutch-registered holding company.
The Milan judge earlier this month gave the companies until November 29th to settle their disagreements outside the courts but the two groups failed to reach an accord. On November 29th, Mediaset announced that “despite strenuous efforts, attempts at a conciliation promoted by the Court of Milan […] had failed.”
