Holographic television has – supposedly – been “on the horizon” for many years. Now a UK software business, VividQ says it has a complete solution for holographic display.
The Cambridge-based company is linking with Taiwan-based Himax Technologies, to create real-time 3D software that enables integration according to a report by Display Daily, and the companies say they have solved “key technology barriers in the adoption of holographic display for mass commercial application”.
VividQ say their patented software enables mass adoption of holographic display in AR/VR headsets and smart-glasses, automotive head-up displays, and consumer electronics, which means “highly realistic 3D visuals wherever you want, from smart-glasses to in-car Head-Up Displays and beyond.”
VividQ adds “Our technology is application agnostic, from automotive (HUDs), aerospace, wearables (HMDs), gaming (AR,VR, MR), medical and beyond. We are the standard for full-depth, high quality and scalable holographic solutions.”
