Spain: Fresh twist in TV football war
October 2, 2018
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Shortly after Movistar announced it was withdrawing its low cost promotion from the market, rival operator Orange has made a further turn of the screw by offering all European Champions League matches at half price the whole season.
Orange subscribers will be able to watch the Champions and the UEFA League for only €7, as well as the best football matches from the top European Leagues. The regular price for this package is €14.95 a month.
The move comes at a time when it is known that Vodafone Spain has lost 154,000 subscribers since the start of the football war in Spain. Not even the indefinite 50 per cent discount offer managed to stem losses with 60,000 customers fewer in September.
