Spain: Mediapro, beIN to air Serie A football
August 31, 2018
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spanish TV company Mediapro and its OTT service BbeIN Connect will air matches from Italy’s top-flight football league.
Both have reached an agreement with the IMG agency, which manages Serie A International rights, to broadcast the matches.
Mediapro will air one Serie A match per week through its DTT channel Gol and the beIN OTT service will offer two live matches per week.
The deal comes soon after Mediapro’s €1 billion deal for domestic Serie A rights was annulled by Italian courts, with that contract ultimately going to DAZN and Sky Italia.
