TravelXP, the travel and lifestyle channel, says its 4K version will launch over India once it has received a transmission licence.
TravelXP, backed by Prashant Chotanhi’s Celebrities Management, has been filming in the higher-standard HDR version of Ultra HD for some years, and is targeting operators such as TataSky and Videocon d2h which have already distributed 4K-enabled set-top boxes.
Chotani’s company already owns and operates two channels Travelxp and Travelxp Tamil. It also has a Bangla audio feed. It is seeking to add Telugu, Marathi, Kannada and Malayalam audio versions to its output.
“We are waiting to get the licence to launch our 4K HDR offering. We will also add regional feeds gradually in Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, and Malayalam. We are available in Hindi, Tamil, and Bangla,” said Chothani.
He adds that TravelXP is already available over Europe, North America, the MENA region and Asia-Pacific area, and frequently in UHD. The channel launches on the UK Freeview platform on April 30th.
