Ampere Analysis’ Top Online Video Services Barometer has revealed that YouTube is still by far the most watched online video service, with 68.7 per cent of global internet users having visited the website at least once in the last month.
YouTube is the most watched service in all but one of the markets studied. The UK is the exception, where BBC iPlayer is the most watched
YouTube’s nearest competitor is Facebook, which has just under half the number of global video viewers.
The research also revealed that SVoD services attract the most subscribers in the US and Denmark, with close to 55 per cent of all Internet users in both countries having used a service in the last month. Next up are Sweden and the UK, both at around 45 per cent.
