Akamai delivers record traffic for Rio
August 10, 2016
Akamai has already delivered more video traffic for Rio than whole London games in 2012.
In a statement, the CDN specialist said: “On Monday [August 8th], during the third day of Rio, Akamai had already exceeded the total amount of video data that it delivered for all 17 days of London in 2012.”
Akamai has previously stated that the company is expecting 100x more live streaming than London and Sochi, at 2 times the speed and 3 times the traffic peaks.
