Malaysia: Hopster partners with Maxis
April 28, 2016
Hopster, the UK educational kids OTT service, has announced a partnership with Maxis, a Malaysian ISP. The carriage deal will see Maxis make Hopster available to their over 11 million customers at an exclusive price, and supported by a market leading data offer that enables users to stream Hopster’s content library without incurring data charges. This deal follows Hopster’s recent strategic distribution partnerships with EE and Vodafone, both of which see the telcos offer users Hopster bundled with other devices and services.
As part of Hopster’s deal with Maxis, families in Malaysia can enjoy a 2 month free trial of Hopster (worth RM20) and will get access to hit kids shows such as Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder and Teletubbies.
Nick Walters, founder and CEO at Hopster says: “We’re really excited about our partnership with Maxis. As Malaysian families become ever more connected by mobile broadband, we think there’s a unique opportunity for services like Hopster to join their growing video-on-demand offerings. We’re glad to have been selected by a market leader like Maxis and hope to help their young users learn through the shows they love in a safe and ad-free environment.”
