AJ+ on Apple TV
January 19, 2016
AJ+ has launched a new digital experience on Apple TV. This marks its first step in making content available through an app on the big screen as it has been focused solely on native mobile and social distribution of content to-date.
AJ+ is a network of digital properties owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network producing and distributing content natively for digital audiences. The new tvOS App allows users to consume and engage with AJ+ content and features a unique emoji reactions feature that replaces the classic star rating system used by many publishers. This allows producers to gauge how the content is performing with the audience.
Dima Khatib, Managing Director of AJ+, said: “Innovative storytelling and reporting about stories that matter in formats that appeal to our audience as well as distributing this content natively to our audience has always been a key pillar of our strategy.
