From David Del Valle in Madrid
Telefonica’s IPTV service Movistar TV is launching a new and smaller (13 cm x 2.3 cm) set-top-box, manufactured by ARRIS, branded as ARRIS VIP113.
The new device is equipped to allow new capabilities such as timeshift, HD content and the interaction with TV content. With a low energy consumption (5 Watts), the STB has HDMI connection for 1080p, CVBS connection and is equipped with microSD reader, an USB 2.0 port and a Fast Ethernet 10/100 connection.
The remote control included works with radio frequency instead of infra red lights, making it easier for TV clients in its use.
