January 13, 2015
Pac-12 Networks has formed a partnership with Elemental Technologies, a supplier of software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, to provide live simulcast streaming to its Pac-12 Now TV Everywhere service as well as the video processing for its YouTube international subscription service.
Each year, Pac-12 Networks will deliver live coverage of 850 sporting events to fans worldwide via television, the internet and mobile devices. In August, Pac-12 Networks expanded its reach to international audiences by creating the first-ever live streaming 24×7 subscription sports channel on YouTube.
“From the very beginning we have been focused on bringing Pac-12 fans closer to their favourite teams by delivering great content 24×7 across various devices. In order to do that we need a vendor like Elemental who has a proven track record and matches our focus on the fan experience,” said David Aufhauser, Vice President and General Manager of Pac-12 Digital. “Elemental encoders provide the absolute best-in-class encoding quality and reliability required to satisfy the expectations of passionate Pac-12 fans.”
