M7 Group contracts additional SES capacity
November 14, 2014
SES has announced that Luxembourg-based satellite television provider M7 Group has contracted additional capacity and extended an existing capacity contract at Astra 23.5 degrees East.
M7 Group will be utilising the additional capacity to further expand the HD channel offering of Skylink, the M7-owned DTH television platform for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Reaching over two million DTH homes, Skylink is the market-leading satellite television platform in these countries.
“With the Czech and Slovak market now rapidly moving to HD viewing, it is critical to meet the growing consumer demand for HD content and thereby maintain our market-leading position. This new capacity agreement with SES will enable us to do so,” said Jaromir Glisnik, Member of the Board of M7 Group.
“We are pleased to be able to support M7’s plans to grow its audiences, and remain committed to help them do so on a pan-European level,” said Norbert Hoelzle, Senior Vice President of Europe, Commercial at SES.
