BT Sport bids for La Liga?
August 14, 2014
BT Sport is reportedly weighing up a bid for the Spanish top flight football rights.
Sky has held La Liga rights, the home of Real Madrid and Barcelona, for almost 20 years but its contract expires at the end of the season, opening the door for its latest rival to snatch the rights from 2015.
BT Sport paid £897 million (€1.16bn) for the Champions League last year, in a three year deal taking it from Sky.
