STV and Milkshake join YouView
August 29, 2012
STV’s video on-demand service is now available through YouView, the BBC-backed hybrid Freeview set top box.
The Scottish broadcaster’s VoD app is available to access for YouView customers in STV licence areas of Scotland. Viewers can watch STV programmes live and also catch up on shows from the ITV Network, such as Coronation Street and The X Factor. The service is accessible via a dedicated STV Player app, or through the YouView programme guide.
UK broadcaster Channel 5 is also launching an on-demand player for its Milkshake kids programming strand on the connected TV platform. The service offers a range of shows aimed at two-to-seven year olds.
“We look forward to welcoming other content providers onto the YouView platform in due course,” commented Richard Halton, CEO of YouView.
