Telecom Italia selling La7?
May 8, 2012
By Chris Forrester
Widespread reports out of Italy over the weekend suggest that commercial TV channel La7 is to be sold by owner Telecom Italia Media.
Two weeks ago, Telecom Italia Media’s shareholders approved last year’s report, which despite recording a decline in overall annual revenue (€238.2 million, down by €20.3 million), it recognised a rise in ad-revenues at La7, up 32.1 per cent y-o-y.
La7 was brought into the Telecom Italia fold back in 2001, and at that time was called Telemontecarlo. It is best known now for its news and talk/current affairs output, as well as comedy shows.
