September 27, 2011
Multi-screen video solutions specialist SeaChange has confirmed that Liberty Global has selected SeaChange’s Adrenalin multi-screen video back office and client publishing solutions for Liberty Global’s Horizon media and entertainment platform rollouts.
Following current field trials, the multiple system operator is targeting commercial launch of Horizon at UPC in the Netherlands first, to be followed closely by launches at UPC Cablecom in Switzerland and Unitymedia in Germany.
The Horizon platform is a next-generation TV platform, providing not only video to TV screens but also to other devices, from PCs to tablets and smartphones. Using a simple and intuitive interface and a powerful recommendation engine, subscribers will be able to view and share the television experience and any content on multiple screens wirelessly throughout the home and on the go through device applications and web browsers.
