Romtelecom halting free IPTV package
July 22, 2011
Romtelecom will stop providing its IPTV Dolce package free of charge this August, according to Romanian business newspaper Ziarul Financiar, citing Ovidiu Ghiman, Romtelecom Chief Strategy and Commercial Residential Officer.
The Romanian telco has sent letters to those who have access to the IPTV package, informing them they need to subscribe to an IPTV package with prices between €4.99 and €9.99 as of August if they wish to continue to have access to IPTV.
The company is preparing for the launch in August of an integrated offer comprising voice, Internet and TV, which will include repackaged TV programmes, Ghiman said.
Launched in May 2010, Romtelecom’s IPTV offer includes four subscriptions, of which one is offered without any extra charge. The package offers access to 24 channels at no extra cost.
