Vivendi: ‘Don’t fear OTT’
April 6, 2011
Speaking at the Connectivity Conference at MIPTV in Cannes, Vivendi Mobile Entertainment CEO Cèdric Ponsot said “there’s a lot of fear around how connected TVs will affect existing businesses and broadcasters,” but he urged people to meet it head on. He said content creators must not hold back from increasing syndication and distribution of content if they’re to successfully monetise video content.
Ponsot believes successfully exploiting digital consumption depends on subscription not impulse purchase.
