Broadband CPE market grows slowly

In Q4 2010, 36.8 million broadband Consumer Premises Equipment units shipped, a 1.2 per cent increase from the previous quarter and a 0.8 per cent increase from the same quarter last year. Total revenues were $1.6 billion, remaining flat from the previous quarter and a 0.3 per cent increase from the same quarter last year, according to In-Stat.
“In terms of revenues, Technicolor continues to lead the Broadband CPE industry as a whole,” says Brad Shaffer, Analyst. “Riding a large increase in broadband router sales, Netgear rose to claim the second spot in terms of revenue, with D-Link rounding out the top three. Looking at the hot gateway market, Technicolor continues to lead in revenues. In terms of growth, D-Link and Actiontec both grew revenues over 80 per cent from the prior year.”
