UPC Austria sued for piracy?
November 4, 2010
The Austrian anti piracy association VAP has launched a lawsuit against cable network operator UPC Austria demanding the blockade of the website kino.to by the operator, according to Austrian newspaper Der Standard.
Kino.to is a website, where movies and TV series are offered as streams for free. Last week, VAP demanded from all Austrian ISPs that they would block access to the website, which was refused by the Austrian ISP association ISPA as they claim that there is no legal ground for such blockade. UPC denies receiving a complaint filing and claims to have no obligation to block possible illegal content for its users.
