Orange takes pay-DTT online
February 10, 2010
France Telecom's Orange is in discussions with a number of pay-DTT channels with a view to offering them to its subscribers via ADSL and satellite, the operator has confirmed. Talks go back as far as 2007, but Orange has expressed the hope that the offer will be made available by the end of the first half of 2010.
Orange has accordingly applied to the Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel to become a distributor in a sector where it currently does not have a presence. The intention would be to integrate five channels – LCI, Eurosport, Paris Première, Planète and TF6 – into its existing pay-DTT bouquet.
Two operators – CanalSat and TV Numeric- currently provide pay-DTT.
