AT&T shopping for DTH?
October 26, 2007
AT&T has been rumoured to be examining a bid for a DTH operator for some time and is now set to pounce, according to reports.
The telco is said to have been consulting lawyers in Washington to see how long it would take to get government approval to buy either EchoStar Communications or DirecTV. The most recent market speculation has been that AT&T could make a bid for EchoStar to expand into satellite television to better compete with rivals like Verizon.
