Rovi has confirmed the extension of a multi-year, multi-territory patent licence agreement with Sky. The renewal extends Sky’s previous licence agreement and offers the provider continuous access to Rovi’s entertainment discovery patent portfolio.
“It is increasingly important for businesses to provide their customers with the latest innovations in entertainment search and guidance,” said Samir Armaly, executive vice president, intellectual property and licensing, Rovi. “We are very pleased to continue working with Sky. This renewal further reinforces the enormous value of Rovi’s patent portfolio in bringing the latest capabilities to pay-TV homes across Europe, where Sky customers can look forward to a state-of-the-art service from a trusted provider.”
