ACCESS NetFront selected by Nintendo

ACCESS, a global provider of advanced software solutions to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, has confirmed that NetFront Browser NX, a WebKit-based browser, has been selected by Nintendo as the browser engine for its New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS LL game consoles.
NetFront Browser NX is a platform-independent WebKit-based browser developed and provided by ACCESS. It incorporates a unique technology that improves memory usage efficiency to ensure powerful rendering even under exceedingly low memory conditions. The browser supports the latest Web technologies, including HTML5, Gamepad API, WebSocket, Video, Video Subtitle and more. Numerous device manufacturers worldwide utilise NetFront Browser NX, including Nintendo.
NetFront Browser NX is also used in the Wii U, which was released in 2012, and Nintendo 3DS, which was released in 2011.
