First Regional DTT network launched in Spain
October 7, 2009
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Media group Vocento has launched the first Regional DTT network in the country with DTT channels operating in Madrid (Onda 6), Andalusia (channel Sevilla TV), the Basque Country (channels, Teledonosti, Alava 7 and Bilbovision) and Murcia (Canal 6) for a potential audience of 16 million people.
Broadcasting 24 hours a day with programming based on entertainment and news, the channels are targeting a young audience with content from Nickelodeon, MTV or Paramount Comedy.
The network is the result of a strategic agreement between Vocento and Viacom signed last June to strengthen the US group's presence in the Spanish market.
