Virgin win patent round against Rovi
March 27, 2014
Virgin Media has prevailed in its latest High Court battle with Rovi Corporation over patents related to EPG and links to content.
Rovi had claimed infringement of two patents relating to the ability to conceal chosen channels on the EPG and the “backwards EPG” linking to content. The Court found both patents invalid and that the Virgin Media TiVo box would not infringe in any event.
Rovi said its patent portfolio was as “strong as ever” and that it had several other patents pending against Virgin Media.
