January 24, 2014
Fox International Channels (FIC) has announced that Super Bowl XLVIII will be broadcast live on its channels in Europe.
The NFL’s championship game will be available live to more than 12 million households on Fox Sports in Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey and Cyprus, and on Fox in Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.
This will be the first time the Super Bowl is broadcast live on the FIC channels in Europe and represents one more step in the company’s strategic commitment to sports. Thanks to the global reach of Fox Sports, NFL fans in Europe will view the exclusive Fox production of the Super Bowl from the US, featuring play-by-play announcer Joe Buck and analyst NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman.
Super Bowl XLVIII, featuring the NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks and the AFC Champion Denver Broncos, takes place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on February 2nd, with the live European broadcast beginning at 00.25am (CET) on February 3rd.
