Serbia’s switch-over to digital TV is being further delayed. Last year’s anticipated switch-off was missed, and Serbia’s telecoms minister Rasim Ljajic says its new date will be June 17th 2015.

Fresh legislation will be introduced this summer while the state-owned TV transmission company is obliged to have everything ready, as far as equipment procurement is concerned, by this September.

Minister Ljajic says that the relevant funding for the process has now been secured, with the initial  budget of around €75 million now proving to be an over-estimate with actual costs likely to be half that originally estimated.
