Northern & Shell to launch TV mag
February 15, 2013
Richard Desmond’s Northern & Shell is launching a new weekly television listings magazine in the UK next month.
The magazine, titled ‘TV Pick’, will be priced at 40p, 5p less than TV Choice – the current best selling TV listing publication. It is the first new weekly TV listings title to launch since 2005.
Buyers of the magazine will get a free ticket to Desmond’s Health Lottery and Northern & Shell is planning to support the launch with above and below the line marketing activity across its print and TV outlets. The company said it would give the full cover price of each TV Pick sale back to retailers and wholesalers for six weeks after its launch.
TV Pick will go up against rival listings weeklies including H bauer’s TV Choice which sold an average of 1,230,076 in the final six months of 2012; and IPC Media’s What’s On TV, with a circulation of 1,222,242.
