BBC shrinks Red Button

In its final Delivering Quality report the BBC Trust has confirmed major cuts to Red Button services. It will cut the number of channels available on satellite and cable from nine to one, in line with DTT. The multscreen news service has already been cut.
On IPTV and connected TV services the Trust merely says it awaits detailed proposal from management.
On the formula of projecting current cost to 2016-17 the Red Button service was projected at £17 million (€21.3m) and the cuts will save an annualized £0.9 million.
