Euronews appoints new leadership

With a view to boosting Euronews’ development, the channel’s Supervisory Board has designated its new Chairman and appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.
Paolo Garimberti, current Chairman of the Italian public broadcaster, RAI, was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He succeeds Pier Luigi Malesani. Paolo Garimberti will bring to Euronews his extensive career as a journalist and his strong reputation for professionalism in the media world.
Michael Peters, until now the Managing Director of Euronews, was appointed Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Philippe Cayla.
The Supervisory Board also appointed as new members of the Executive Board, led by Michael Peters: Lucian Sârb, Director of News and Programmes, Cécile Leveaux, Technical Director and Olivier de Montchenu, Sales Director and Managing Director of Euronews Sales.
