Record audiences for canalplus.fr
June 6, 2011
Canal Plus is claiming a new record for videos viewed on its canalplus.fr website, with 26.7 million viewed in May 2011, representing a 78 per cent increase over the corresponding month in 2010.
The site also beat its previous record of visits, recording 12.8 million as opposed to 9.8 million a year previously, an increase of 30 per cent. It also recorded 5.8 million unique visitors, compared with 5.3 million in 2010.
The pay-TV operator puts this success down to factors such as the range of web-exclusive content, as well as live broadcast of some of the service’s flagship programmes such as Le Grand Journal and Zapping, and video highlights of top Champions League football matches.
