Elon Musk’s broadband-by-satellite service is now rolling out in parts of Australia. Starlink is now available in rural parts of Victoria and the southern portion of New South Wales.

“Starlink is now available in limited supply in Australia! Initial beta service is available in parts of central Victoria and southern New South Wales,” a press release stated. “Service will expand across the country in the coming months.”

Service costs A$139 (€88) a month, plus A$709 hardware costs and a A$100 “shipping fee”, as well as a one-month fee as a deposit.

Meanwhile, Starlink is also accepting pre-booking orders from potential subscribers in India. However, there are heavyweight objections from the likes of Amazon, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and India’s Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
