April 14, 2011
Sky’s mobile apps are to include video advertising slots following a deal with US video server company FreeWheel.
Sky will use FreeWheel’s Monetisation Rights Management product to serve video advertising across a number of its platforms and services, including mobile.
Tim Hussain, Sky’s head of platform development and partnerships said that the deal was struck to future-proof its cross-platform business.
FreeWheel has already been working with a number of broadcast companies including Discovery International and ESPN.
