June 3, 2019
SoftAtHome, the technology company delivering a seamless experience at home and on the go, and Telenor, the leading operator in Norway, today announce the deployment of Telenor’s Wi-Fi Amplifier. The product launched in January improves Wi-Fi coverage for VDSL subscribers and offers stronger data security with built-in filters, automatic software updates and a simple setup.
The Wi-Fi Ruter is powered by SoftAtHome’s Wifi’ON technology that brings smart Wi-Fi to the home with automatic selection of the best network frequency. The ideal place to implement secure and improved Wi-Fi reception throughout the home is within the home gateway. It is ideally suited to manage all connected devices in a market of over 800 000 connected households.
The new Wi-Fi Amplifier device, uses the MQTT protocol for real-time data transfer to the operator, enabling rapid software updates via Telenor’s SkyNet solution. The Wi-Fi Amplifier pairs automatically with an installed Wi-Fi Ruter.
“Since launching in January, our Wi-Fi Ruter has seen a very encouraging start,” said Camilla Amundsen, CMO Fixed and TV of Telenor Norway. SoftAtHome’s team have shown deep Wi-Fi expertise to help us deliver best-of-breed Wi-Fi for our Norwegian subscribers. We are excited to be launching the new Wi-Fi Amplifier so our customers can extend coverage throughout their homes.”
David Viret-Lange, SoftAtHome CEO added: Telenor Norway has continually proven to be innovative, offering advanced services and features. We are proud to work with the leading Norwegian operator because they understand the importance of Wi-Fi quality. We are helping them regain control of their installed base so they can regularly bring new innovative services.”
