South Africa’s broadcast regulator ICASA has fired its own chairman, the now convicted Rubben Mohlaloga.

Mohlaloga was convicted of fraud and money laundering in South Africa on January 15^th last year. He was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment by the Pretoria specialised commercial crimes court on February 14^th 2019.

The decision came from the nation’s National Assembly which on March 20^th decided to remove Mohlaloga from office with immediate effect.
