Reports from India say that Star India and Zee-backed DTH operator Dish have buried the hatchet and agreed a new carriage deal.

The dispute had seen Star India issue disconnect notices on Dish (and its new subsidiary Videocon d2h) back on March 20^th and which brought in India’s Telecoms Disputes regulator to attempt a negotiated settlement. By April 10^th the two parties submitted fresh ideas to the regulator and said that they were happy to sign a new agreement. The new terms will kick in before the end of April.

“From the submission of learned counsel for the parties, it appears that matter has been settled outside the Court and the agreement is likely to be signed by the end of this month,” the regulator stated.
