Planetcast debuts new cloud-first broadcast infrastructure

Planetcast, a global player in media services and technology, has announced key advancements in how its integrated technology portfolio is deployed to support large-scale media operations, debuting at NAB 2026. These advancements include expanded IP-based live sports workflows, increased operational scale across global channel deployments and new efficiencies enabled through hybrid cloud and automation.
The company currently supports more than 450 channels globally, reaching 1.3 billion viewers across 50+ leading media brands, reflecting its growing role in powering large-scale, live and multi-platform media operations worldwide.
Building on its integrated portfolio of in-house platforms, including MediaHQ, Contido, CloudX, ReCaster and BATS, Planetcast is evolving beyond standalone products into a unified, end-to-end operating framework that brings together content management, playout, distribution and monetisation to help media companies operate more flexibly and efficiently.
Product Updates at NAB Show 2026
At NAB Show 2026, Planetcast will highlight product updates across its portfolio, with a focus on greater flexibility, tighter integration and more efficient workflows spanning playout, IP distribution, content management, OTT delivery and monetization. Together, these updates reflect Planetcast’s continued investment in helping broadcasters and content owners operate more efficiently across live, linear and streaming environments.
ReCaster, Planetcast’s IP-based signal transport platform, now supports hybrid deployment models with SRT, RIST and UDP protocols, enabling broadcasters to deliver high-quality live content with ~2500ms latency across distributed environments. The platform supports both SPTS and MPTS workflows, as well as mixed-mode operations, providing the flexibility needed for large-scale, multi-destination distribution. Today, ReCaster is deployed by over 50 customers across global markets including Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
