BAFTA, TikTok expand partnership

January 29, 2026

TikTok and BAFTA have announced an expanded year round partnership for 2026, building on the success of recent Awards seasons and recognising the growing role creators play in how audiences discover and celebrate film and television.

Over the past 12 months, #Movie has generated more than 40 million posts globally, up 81 per cent year on year, while discovery-led communities continue to grow rapidly, #WhatToWatch has doubled to 6 million posts and #BAFTA posts are up 60 per cent year on year.

In 2026, TikTok and BAFTA will build on this creator-led momentum through an official BAFTA content hub, a year-round collaboration with entertainment publishers on official content and, for the first time, standout creators can win tickets to attend the EE BAFTA Film Awards. Spotlighting BAFTA-nominated film and television titles, with a particular focus on UK-relevant programming around the BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises, creators will remain at the heart of the partnership, with select creators receiving access to BAFTA screenings, industry events and panels throughout the year.

The partnership also shines a light on members of the TikTok Film & TV Club, a community of creators shaping how modern audiences experience film and television.

Dominic Burns, Head of Content Operations UK, IE and Nordics at TikTok, commented: “Film and television fandom has never been more expressive or more interactive. TikTok creators are driving that shift, helping audiences discover film and television in ways that feel personal and authentic. Our expanded partnership with BAFTA is about celebrating UK creativity, championing the voices shaping modern screen culture and supporting the next generation of talent, bringing the magic of film and TV to fans wherever they are.”

Paul MacMahon, Head of Digital Content at BAFTA, added: “Our Award ceremonies are a global moment to celebrate exceptional storytelling, while also inspiring future generations both on and off screen. We’re excited to be expanding our partnership with TikTok in 2026 and harnessing the power of film and TV creators, providing them with access to unique opportunities and building deeper and more authentic connections with fans.”
